The Center for Science Education connects Emory students, faculty, and staff with enriching opportunities to engage local K - 12 students in science. By sharing their own love of scientific inquiry, Emory's emerging scholars help nurture a new generation of scientists and mathematicians.

CSE Fellowships:
Opportunities for undergraduates, graduate students, post-docs, and K-12 teachers to participate in curriculum development or research experiences.

Emory-Carver Partnership:
Opportunities for after-school mentoring, college readiness programming, in-class facilitation of student groups in problem-based learning lessons (see CSE Fellowships), health fair coordination, and curriculum development work with teachers. Special opportunities for public health and nursing students, pre-health undergraduates, and various health-focused student groups to help high school students design and implement studies of their own health and that of their community. Emory Science Outreach:
This new student organization works with the CSE to engage undergraduates, graduate students, faculty, and staff in K-12 science education. Opportunities are available for mentoring, tutoring, and science fair judging in Atlanta-area schools. [more]

Research Opportunities at Emory:
- Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE), a 10-week residential research experience. Students present their research in a symposium at the end of the program. The program has a research ethics training component.
- Scholarly Inquiry & Research at Emory (SIRE), promoting undergraduate research projects through grants, faculty-student research partnerships, and summer research stipends.
- Interdisciplinary Science Program for Integrating Research into Education (INSPIRE) is designed to give high-achieving science students an in-depth research experience that will prepare them for a leading role in the world of science.

Program in Science and Society:
To appreciate the vitality of science across disciplines, Science and Society sponsors activities that explore the interface of science with social issues, including ethics, religion and morality.

Phi Sigma Biological Honor Society:
Phi Sigma's Science Outreach program offers science, math, english, social studies, and SAT tutoring to students at Avondale High School. Tutoring is open to all Emory students regardless of major and you can tutor with a partner of your choice or alone at least once a week for 1 hour. The sessions must start at 3:30 pm every weekday (some saturday programs exist). Phi Sigma provides the necessary material and curriculum to teach. Contact Zain Ahmed, Phi Sigma President.

ChEmory:
Emory's undergraduate chemistry club, strives to spread excitement about chemistry through social activities, events, meetings, and demonstrations in local schools. Anyone with an interest in chemistry and science at large is welcome, regardless of major. Contact Dr. Morkin, the club advisor.
