The Postdoctoral Research and Education Program (PREP)
A unique program designed to provide postdoctoral fellows with both research support and training in teaching methods that could be useful to their career development. Participating schools (all located in Atlanta, Georgia) are Emory University, Morehouse School of Medicine, Morehouse College, Morris Brown College, Clark Atlanta University, Spelman College.
HHMI Research Training Fellowships in Biological Sciences
The Howard Hughes Medical Institute's Graduate Science Education Program offers a variety of research fellowships for medical students and graduate students. Applications for medical students are due November 6, 2002 and can be found at www.hhmi.org/fellowships.medpre03. Graduate student applications are due November 12-14, 2002, and are available at national-academies.org/fellowships.
HHMI Predoctoral Fellowships in Biological Sciences
The Howard Hughes Medical Institute will award 80 five-year fellowships for full-time study toward a Ph.D. or a Sc.D. degree in the biological sciences. Students who have completed less than one year of graduate study, or are pursuing a medical or dental degrees are encouraged to apply by November 12, 2002. HHMI-NIH Research Scholars Program
The Howard Hughes Medical Institute and the National Institutes of Health offer support for nine to twelve months of full-time research at a laboratory at the NIH. For more information see www.hhmi.org/cloister/gpub3. Applications are due January 10, 2003.
